Sketches Playlist

The song Innocent by Taylor Swift, describes the life of these runaway teens perfectly.  It explains how even though things are changing your still Innocent.
ET by Katy Perry, even though you probably think this song is sexual and stuff I see a relationship between the song and the book of Sketches, in Sketches everything they're going through is foreign and hypnotizing, just like the song states.
Secrets by OneRepublic, also relates to the book Sketches because their life is full of secrets living on the streets you tend to gain some then if someone catches wind of them a wrong kind of someone that is they're all going to be shared.
Creep by Radiohead, is a great example of how these teens feel under the eyes of outsiders, eg people with more money than them.
Warning Sign by Coldplay, sings about the truth of how much they miss their loved ones but they're so afraid always looking for warning signs that they want to go back home but they just can't because of their doubt.

Seek Truth

Opinion is a flitting thing,
But truth outlasts the Sun--
If we cannot own them both--
Posess the oldest one.

What this poem means to me is that even if it is extremely hard you must tell he truth because in the end it will be way better than getting burned and losing everything, you hold dear to you which is what you risk when telling a lie.The way I believe this is applied in society is that people always think that you can get away with little white lies but you should know someone is bound to find out eventually plus if you have your own opinion on things you should be able to express it and not have to worry what other people think because it is your own  opinion. Unless it is offensive to other people then your should keep to yourself because you have have common sense.

The Golden Rule

This unit we are focusing on Tolerance and Discrimination, one thing we are focusing on is the Golden rule we have an assignment for blogger to answer a few question about it here is my responses to those questions.

The message of the Golden rule(Treat others as you would like to be treated)
is that no matter your race colour or gender how you feel about the likes of others if you want to be accepted, loved and respected than you should give the love you have to others and respect and accept them if they have a disability  or their sexual orientation is different then yours you should still treat them properly.
There is a not so popular song that I have provided the link here Don't Laugh at Me I have become aware of this song because at my school it was highly embraced that we learn, listen and abide by the things the man mentions in the song that song really taught me a lesson even though I was at a young age where I was only just becoming aware of the certain problems our society faces each day towards the tolerance we have of other people.

The expression of the Golden rule that I like best is "Regard your neighbor's gain, as your own gain and your neighbor's loss as your own loss." Is from Taoism (you can check it out on this link forms of the golden rule.) The reason I like this one the most is because my neighbor's and my family are really close and if they have a loss or a gain we both benefit or lose something from the experience. That is really the only reason I like that one the most because I feel as though I can relate to it the most.

We sometime don't act according to the Golden Rule because in some occasions we feel as though we are superior to the people we are acting towards.  People just may not understand the value of the Golden Rule and feel it is okay to treat people how ever they want but consequences must be dealt out to others who shall treat them the way that they are treating everyone else.   Maybe you are just in a crummy mood so you feel as though if you treat everyone else that way it will make you feel better but in the end it will most likely make you feel even worse than before.

All about clarinets

The Clarinet

Ms. Crosbie my beloved music teacher, gave my class and myself a instrument assignment as we all play an instrument in the class we are to research the instruments on the websites she provided for us. The Clarinet:  The instrument family that the clarinet plays in is woodwind.  The Clarinet plays in the treble clef.  The instrument was invented in the late 1600s.  A company in Germany invented the Clarinet. The Clarinet plays in the low orchestra. The way to make a sound with a clarinet is by using a reed to attach to the mouth piece and blow into it gently while "tonguing" basically saying ta silently then press the buttons on the keys. The way you assemble the clarinet attach the two middle pieces thje upper joint(1) and lower joint(2) to it then add the bell(3) then put the mouth piece(4) in it next attach the ligature(5) as you attach the ligature put the wet reed in.  Before playing make sure the instrument is going to be taken out of the case properly and you are not going to destroy it by knocking all the contents out of the case. After wards you must use a little cleaning apparatus first you must remove the mouthpiece take the more heavy piece of the (let's call it a spit dryer) spit dryer slide it through the clarinet and pull the rest of it out of the other end then carefully put it away in the proper places.
Just using the mouth piece put it ina soapy serum once you have put it in there you dry it off

Behind my name

Behind My Name: Andrianna

Before I started this assignment, I thought my name was Outstanding,Amazing and Beautiful, because it's so unique.
The story I have been told is that my mom chose this name for me because of my grandfathers' best friend' whose name was Andre, he died in a fire saving someone while on vacation. He meant a lot to my family, and even though I did not know him, I was graciously given a part of his name.  Although, I was almost named Aurora. Thank goodness my mom's sister talked her out of it.

After searching on
Baby names, I learned that my name does not match any searching, but I snooped around some other sites and found out my name means manly, brave and is the feminine form of Andrew.
Some of the other things I learned were, after I broke my name down to simply Anna, it is of both genders. It's origin is Hebrew, Latin, Japanese and Sanskrit. The meaning of the Hebrew one is grace flavor likewise with Latin; as for Japanese my name means apricot; from Nara and Sanskrit it means grain.

I also looked up my last name, which is Wagner and discovered it is German for man who makes wagons.  I think my name suits me because I love being different from everyone else and I hate seeming like I am just like everyone else in the world. Although, it sometimes it get annoying correcting people on the pronunciation of my name I still absolutely love it!!

If I could give myself a new name, it would be Savannah, because I adore that name and if I have a girl child when I grow up I am going name her that.

Tolorence and Discrimination

This topic sometimes is hard to talk about, of course I disagree with discrimination but we should all have tolerance to a certain degree. For example on October 12th, 2010 I was with two of my friends on a bike path and there is a little forest near by which we were in, these people who came by they were a large group of kids about our age came by and everything was fine except until later I guess we got a little to close to their "territory" then two of the girls came over to us and were swearing and asked us "what were we doing" (probably not the smartest thing) but we ran away back to where we were in the first place they came after us and called us "white trash" even though they were both clearly white and continued to swear at us they thought we were spying on them. When they walked away me and the other to people made a remark that we didn't believe what they said they were going to do.  Then they decided to come back and said some really nasty things to us we were all infuriated but we had to tolerate the things they said to us without getting ourselves into trouble even though we were being called names and getting some not so nice things said to us.

I don't think it's okay to discriminate anyone one for any reason but I think being able to tolerate things people say or do is important.
